The proposed project is intended as a by-pass, an alternative route to the present two (2) lane Manila South Road (MSR) arterial road passing through Calamba-Los Banos-Bae corridor, all in the province of Laguna. The proposed new alignment is approximately 17.40 kms, consisting of at-grade road sections and an elevated structural segment to skirt if not completely avoid heavily developed and thickly populated, as well as all environmentally delicate, areas along the traverse. The bridges and viaduct is estimated to be 8.60 (1.22+7.38) km long and the rest are at-grade road sections.
